GQR: A Fast Solver for Binary Qualitative Constraint Networks
نویسندگان
چکیده
Qualitative calculi are constraint-based representation formalisms that allow for efficient reasoning about continuous aspects of the world with inherently infinite domains, such as time and space. GQR (Generic Qualitative Reasoner) is a tool that provides reasoning services for arbitrary binary qualitative calculi. Given qualitative information expressible in a qualitative calculus, GQR checks whether this information is consistent w.r.t. the calculus definition. GQR employs stateof-the-art techniques in both qualitative and constraint reasoning, such as heuristic search and usage of known tractable subclasses. In contrast to specialized reasoners, it offers reasoning services for a variety of calculi known in the literature, which can be defined in a simple specification language. The main focus in the design and implementation of GQR is to provide a generic and extensible solver that preserves efficiency and scalability.

GQR – A Fast Reasoner for Binary Qualitative Constraint Calculi
GQR (Generic Qualitative Reasoner) is a solver for binary qualitative constraint networks. GQR takes a calculus description and one or more constraint networks as input, and tries to solve the networks using the path consistency method and (heuristic) backtracking. In contrast to specialized reasoners, it offers reasoning services for different qualitative calculi, which means that these calcul...
متن کاملFast Set Bounds Propagation Using a BDD-SAT Hybrid
Binary Decision Diagram (BDD) based set bounds propagation is a powerful approach to solving set-constraint satisfaction problems. However, prior BDD based techniques incur the significant overhead of constructing and manipulating graphs during search. We present a set-constraint solver which combines BDD-based set-bounds propagators with the learning abilities of a modern SAT solver. Together ...
متن کاملMemoized Semantics-Based Binary Diffing with Application to Malware Lineage Inference
Identifying differences between two executable binaries (binary diffing) has compelling security applications, such as software vulnerability exploration, “1-day” exploit generation and software plagiarism detection. Recently, binary diffing based on symbolic execution and constraint solver has been proposed to look for the code pairs with the same semantics, even though they are ostensibly dif...
متن کاملMAS: An On-line Non-binary CSP Solver
Nowadays, many dynamic problems can be efficiently modelled as Constraint Satisfaction Problems (CSPs). These constraints may be on-line non-binary constraints that traditional CSP solver can not manage directly. It is well known that any non-binary CSP can be transformed into an equivalent binary one, using some of the current techniques. However, this transformation may not be practical in pr...
متن کاملCombining binary constraint networks in qualitative reasoning
Constraint networks in qualitative spatial and temporal reasoning are always complete graphs. When one adds an extra element to a given network, previously unknown constraints are derived by intersections and compositions of other constraints, and this may introduce inconsistency to the overall network. Likewise, when combining two consistent networks that share a common part, the combined netw...
